Startup Acceleration

Acceleration program for startups in pre-seed and seed stage to help them grow and reach the next level.

What are
we looking for?

Efficient Renewable Energy Generation

How could we maximize the efficiency and energy generation of our renewable assets with the aim of improving profitability and sustainability through new technologies?

Challenge 2:

Predictive and prescriptive maintenance of electrical distribution networks

How could we implement predictive and prescriptive maintenance services that simplify the processes of distribution network assets with the aim of preventing breakdowns, avoiding interruptions and reducing costs?

What do we offer?

We offer a tailored acceleration program in collaboration with Aticco to help evolve the entrepreneurial ecosystem and facilitate access to the energy and telecommunications and smart home markets.

Board of 5 mentors per Startup

Each accelerated startup will have access to a board of 5 mentors. Three of them will be part of Aticco’s mentor network, and the remaining two will be from Estabanell’s team.

Growth Bootcamp

At the beginning of the acceleration program we’ll hold a Growth Bootcamp for the selected startups. It will be a 2-day, in-person event in Barcelona.

Sandbox to test your technology

We will provide a Sandbox with our assets so that startups that need it can test their technology.

Option to do a proof of concept

At the end of the acceleration program and depending on the maturity level of the startup, we will suggest the businesses to do a proof of concept to test the technology.

Access to energy and telco know-how

We will make more than 250 professionals from the Estabanell group available to the accelerated startups.

Financial assistance of up to €10,000 per accelerated startup.

At the end of the program, Estabanell will give a non-refundable prize of €10,000 to all accelerated startups.

Space at Aticco MED to work

We will offer two fixed places in the Aticco MED coworking space with 24×7 access.

GELLIFY and Aticco Alumni Ecosystem

The accelerated startups will be part of the alumni startup networks that have participated in the different GELLIFY and Atacco programs.

Additional Perks Offered by the Aticco Community

AticcoLab’s accelerated startups will have access to exclusive agreements with partners such as Hubspot, AWS, KPMG, Zendesk, Signaturit, Holded, among others.

FAQs

Is the Acceleration program free?

Yes, it is a completely free program and funded by ERIA, the external vehicle of Estanell’s Corporate Venturing. It is an equity free program, you will not have to transfer shares or contribute capital to ERIA or Aticco or the mentors. You will not have to give up any percentage of the company for your participation. We believe in your founding team, and we bet on you with complete confidence.

What is the of the acceleration program?

The objective is to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the energy, telco or smart home sector with the acceleration of the growth of early-stage startups, which are building the MVP, validating the business model, the market or its legal structure. The benefit that Estabanell obtains is being connected to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, incorporating innovative products and services into its different businesses and fostering innovation internally.

Where does the acceleration program take place?

The program can be carried out both in person and virtually, but there are certain moments that require commitment and presence. These moments are:

  • At the beginning of the program we will do 2 days of in-person Bootcamp in Barcelona. The dates will be approximately mid-May and we will try not to coincide with any important event in the sector.
  • At the end of the program we will hold a kind of Demo Day, where you will have to present your evolution during the acceleration months, in front of companies, partners, investors… The event will tentatively be at the end of November 2024 and will be 100% in person.

How long does the acceleration program last?

The acceleration program will last 6 months. It is a fully tailor-made program that we carry out in collaboration with Aticco.

Who are the mentors?

The acceleration program will give you the possibility to select 5 mentors for your project. Three of them are part of Aticco’s network of mentors, and you can directly select the one that best suits the needs of your project. The other 2 mentors are part of Estabanell and will help you in everything related to the know-how of the energy and telco sector.

What dedication does the acceleration program involve?

At the beginning of the program you will have to attend the 2-day Bootcamp in Barcelona. During the 6 months of the acceleration program you will have at your disposal 5 mentors with whom you will meet in person or virtually once a month so that you can take advantage of all their knowledge. In addition, every month, if you want, you can meet individually with each of them so that they can provide you with a differential value.

Is there a prize for participating in the acceleration program?

Yes, ERIA will grant each of the accelerated startups an amount of up to €10,000 in non-refundable funds. That is, without asking for anything in return. We recommend that the money be invested in the growth of your startup, as well as to help cover any expenses that may arise during the Acceleration program. The prize will be awarded at the end of the Acceleration program.

What happens after the acceleration program?

After the program you will have evolved your project, you will have a more mature startup, and you will be able to achieve many successes.
You will become part of the ERIA alumni community, which comes with certain related benefits. You will also become part of the Aticco and GELLIFY communities.
It’s possible that ERIA may want to continue collaborating with you and test your technology if any of our businesses need to incorporate innovation. Therefore, we may collaborate through our Venture Client program and conduct a Proof of Concept to validate our future integration.

What is "Venture Client" and how is it different from "Venture Capital"?

Venture Client involves a large company becoming the first major client of a startup while it is still in its early stages. The startup gains a large client that helps cover operating costs, build a good portfolio of clients, and improve its service/product based on that client’s feedback.
On the other hand, Venture Capital is the tool of large companies to invest in and become a partner of startups, regardless of whether they become a customer of the startup’s product/service.
The key difference is that in Venture Client, payment is made for the product or service, while in Venture Capital, payment is made for the company’s shares/participations (equity).

What language is used in the program? What language is used in the program?

If you are a startup from outside Spain, you must fill out the application in English. If you are a Spanish startup, you can fill it out in English, Spanish or Catalan.
During the program, Catalan, Spanish, or English is used interchangeably depending on your needs.
